PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., March 07, 2019 – Zimmer Biomet and its affiliate Zfx announce the European launch of GenTek, a new restorative digital product line for Zimmer Biomet dental implant systems. GenTek products and workflows will bring clinicians, dental laboratories and milling centers the restorative solutions that best address patients’ needs and maintain the integrity of clinically proven implant connection designs.

Zfx offers quality CAD/CAM restorative components for the industry’s most popular dental implant connections. Now, for the first time, clinicians can be confident that GenTek components are designed with genuine Zimmer Biomet implant connection specifications. The GenTek portfolio is comprised of scanbodies, ti-bases, pre-milled abutment blanks and accessories, which are part of an open digital workflow. The solutions were designed in close collaboration with Zimmer Biomet Dental, ensuring the highest level of accuracy in its implant-connection designs.

“With the growing adoption of digital technologies and open architecture workflows in the European market, Zimmer Biomet Dental in collaboration with Zfx, strives to be a valuable partner to our customers by introducing genuine restoration components that are part of an open digital workflow,” said Daniele Landi, Vice President, EMEA.

About GenTek - Easy. Fast. Genuine.

A highly accurate digitization of the implant positions in the patient’s mouth or from the laboratory model is possible with the Zfx GenTek Intraoral Scanbodies and GenTek Desktop Scanbodies. Their genuine titanium connection base ensures a precise fit with the implant connection for optimal scanning results. Scanning accuracy is also supported by the PEEK material used in the scanbodies, which provides a favorable surface for optical scanners without the need for spray.

Zfx GenTek Digital Scan Analogs are also available, featuring a proprietary anti-rotation functionality, is a first of its kind 3-in-1 digital analog. They function as digital analogs in 3D printed models, scan bodies and conventional analogs used in a stone model.

For the production of hybrid abutments and hybrid abutment crowns, Zimmer Biomet Dental offers Zfx GenTek Ti-Bases equipped with proven Friction-Fit and SureSeal™ technologies along with our unique Gold-Tite® Screw. The genuine ti-bases meet geometrical requirements for Sirona CEREC® blocks for Chairside Milling and inLab CAD/CAM solutions and offer high restorative flexibility as they may be combined with various materials including oxide ceramics, glass ceramics and PMMA.

One-piece titanium custom abutments may be produced in the dental laboratory using Zfx GenTek Pre-milled Abutment Blanks. They have a pre-fabricated genuine connection to ensure accurate fit and superior performance with the implant connection. As the blanks are compatible with Zfx Inhouse5x and all milling machines that work with Medentika PreFace® Abutment Holders, many partner laboratories will be able to provide the desired genuine abutment.

The use of genuine restorative components is instrumental in safeguarding the physical integrity of implant-based restorations. By ensuring a precise fit and tight seal between the components, the potential for biological and technical complications such as tissue inflammation, screw joint failure and screw loosening may be mitigated. In this way, the genuine connection can contribute to the long-term prosthetic stability. Further information is available at www.zfx-dental.com.

(PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL) February 5, 2019Zimmer Biomet today announced the expansion of its Dental product portfolio to include non-resorbable membranes and sutures. The new OsseoGuard® non-resorbable product line includes dense PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) membranes in multiple texture variations, as well as a titanium mesh and PTFE sutures. OsseoGuard products are currently available in the US and Canada.

OsseoGuard membranes are specifically engineered to eliminate bacterial infiltration into the surgical site while preventing tissue from growing into the bone cavity. High-density PTFE used in the manufacturing process greatly reduces the membrane’s pore size to a submicron (less than 0.3 microns) level. OsseoGuard non-resorbable dental membranes are recommended in certain complex cases, such as vertical ridge augmentation procedures, where longer lasting and space-maintaining membranes are needed because resorbable products may resorb too quickly.

“Zimmer Biomet Dental is very excited to now provide advanced barrier membranes and sutures to our customers for ridge augmentation and other relevant procedures,” said Indraneel Kanaglekar, Vice President, Global Product Management and R&D. “As a market leader in dental regenerative solutions, it is important that we keep diversifying and growing our available solutions in order to address the specific needs and preferences of clinicians.”

OsseoGuard non-resorbable membranes are available in a variety of textured, smooth (non-textured), titanium reinforced and titanium mesh options, giving a clinician the choice of different handling, shapes, sizes and thicknesses. OsseoGuard sutures offer eight precision needle options. These new products supplement the already robust portfolio of resorbable membranes, which includes Puros® Pericardium, CopiOs® Pericardium, CopiOs Extend®, BioMend®, BioMend Extend™, OsseoGuard and OsseoGuard Flex®.

Leader in musculoskeletal healthcare will now distribute a fully synthetic bone graft delivered in a proprietary cartridge delivery system

(Palm Beach Gardens, FL) – April 12, 2017—Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc. (NYSE and SIX: ZBH), a global leader in musculoskeletal healthcare, today announced the distribution of NovaBone Dental Putty through its dental division in over 40 countries within the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Asia Pacific and select markets in Europe. NovaBone Dental Putty is manufactured by NovaBone Products, LLC. NovaBone is a fully synthetic bone graft engineered for enhanced handling and improved performance. In addition to being osteoconductive, the calcium phosphosilicate particles within the product’s formulation promote osteostimulation. NovaBone putty has over 20 years of clinical success documented by more than 50 peer-reviewed publications.1

NovaBone Dental Putty offers unique consistency, with no mixing or thawing required prior to placement.2 The putty adapts to the defect surface and allows uniform surface contact with the bony walls of the defect and eliminates over-condensation or undercondensation of the graft material.2 In addition, the product does not adhere to surgical gloves or instruments during manipulation. Precise, controlled application using a cartridge delivery system reduces waste and facilitates defect fill.

NovaBone Dental Putty is available in multiple delivery options, including pre-filled syringes and the cartridge delivery system with disposable, single-dose cartridges in .25 cc and .5 cc. The diameter of the cannula is 2.8 mm, which is ideal for dispensing the graft, especially in minimally invasive techniques such as gaps in immediate implant placement and crestal approach sinus lift procedures.

“Our new collaboration with NovaBone Products, LLC will enable us to provide new and advanced bone grafting solutions to our customers,” said Brett Deaver, Vice President, Global Marketing and Education, Zimmer Biomet Dental. “The unique osteoconductive and osteostimulatory properties of the synthetic material, and the variety of delivery options, set NovaBone Dental Putty apart in the industry. It also complements very well
our existing brands in the allograft and xenograft space.”

“NovaBone Products, LLC is very excited to partner with Zimmer Biomet Dental in a large number of dental markets. I have long believed that our technology and delivery systems will lead to great success,” said Art Wotiz, President of NovaBone Products, LLC. “Now, with the power of Zimmer Biomet Dental’s sales and marketing teams, I am confident of strong growth of the NovaBone brand. This new relationship is exclusive between NovaBone Products, LLC and Zimmer Biomet Dental. There is no relationship in place, or being considered, for the orthopaedic market.”

Leader in musculoskeletal healthcare expands Tapered Screw-Vent® Family of dental implants featuring new coronal texturing options with microgrooves

(PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL) August 16, 2016Zimmer Biomet (NYSE and SIX: ZBH), a global leader in musculoskeletal healthcare, launches the TSVT and TSVM MP-1® HA Dental Implants, manufactured by Zimmer Dental.  An extension of the successful1 Tapered Screw-Vent® Implant Family, these additional implant configurations are designed to address clinical challenges and preferences for crestal bone maintenance and soft tissue management through coronal texturing options with microgrooves.

TSVT and TSVM MP-1 HA Implants feature a highly crystalline MP-1 HA-coated midsection designed to resist dissolution for long-term coating stability, while achieving high levels of bone-to-implant contact.1  The TSVT and TSVM MP-1 HA Implants are available in the same diameters and lengths as existing TSV Implants.  New configuration options include:

  • TSVT: MTX® microtexturing to the top of the implant, coronal microgrooves and an MP-1 HA-coated midsection

  • TSVM: 0.5mm machined collar, coronal microgrooves with the MTX Surface and an MP-1 HA- coated midsection

“We are excited to offer dental clinicians these contemporary options from Zimmer Biomet to expand their surgical repertoires.  Importantly, the TSVT and TSVM MP-1 HA Implants offer the same primary stability, prosthetic stability and long-term clinical success that have been well documented over the past 15 years with the Tapered Screw-Vent Implant Family,” said David Josza, General Manager of Zimmer Biomet’s dental division.  “As we continue to expand our dental offerings to address a broad range of clinical situations and surgeon preference, we will continue focusing on our customers with an innovative dental portfolio of implant and regenerative solutions, leading service and support capabilities and world-class medical education.”

TSVT and TSVM MP-1 HA Implants feature the exclusive Platform Plus™ Technology, which minimizes micromovement and screw-loosening for prosthetic stability and creates highly favorable conditions for long-term crestal bone maintenance:

  • Lead-in Bevel – Designed to reduce horizontal stresses better than flat “butt-joint” connections1

  • Friction-Fit Connection – Virtually eliminates abutment micromovement leading to screw loosening1

  • 1.5mm Deep Internal Hex – Shields the abutment retention screw from excess loading, distributing occlusal forces deep into the implant1

A Strong, Esthetic Solution for Narrow Anterior Spaces

(Palm Beach Gardens, FL) – February 16, 2016–Zimmer Biomet’s dental division is pleased to announce the availability of its new 3.1 mmD Eztetic™ Implant, manufactured by Zimmer Dental, and accompanying surgical and restorative components. The 3.1mmD Eztetic Implant offers a strong, esthetic solution for narrow anterior sites.

“Zimmer Biomet’s dental division takes pride in developing high-quality products based upon solid research and feedback from our customers.  We had a vision to create a narrow, strong anterior solution with high primary stability which will enable clinicians to perform immediate restorations, when appropriate, in the esthetic zone.  We are pleased that the 3.1mmD Eztetic Implant achieves this vision with a balance of features designed for strength and beauty in the anterior,” said Michael Collins, who served as the Zimmer Dental Vice President of R & D during the implant’s development.

Exceptional Strength & Primary Stability

The 3.1mmD Eztetic Implant is designed to offer improvements over similar commercially available implants, particularly in the areas of strength and primary stability.  When compared to select competitive implants of similar diameters, the Eztetic Implant achieved a 43% higher fatigue strength.1  In addition, the implant performed exceptionally well in insertion torque and torsional yield strength testing.1

Three Principles Combined to Create One State-of-the-Art Connection

For the first time, three concepts have been combined to create a precise implant-abutment connection designed to reduce micromovement and microleakage.  This unique connection consists of a conical interface, platform switch and Double Friction-Fit™ technology designed to make strong narrow-diameter implants indicated for all anterior areas.

Designed for Superior Esthetic Outcomes

The Eztetic implant-abutment connection, along with a Contour Abutment profile, is designed to provide space for soft tissue and esthetic emergence of the restoration.

In addition, a wide range of user-friendly restorative options are available, including abutments for cement-retained, custom, and overdenture restoration, aiming to give clinicians the ability to perform quality esthetic restorations with confidence and ease.

The Zimmer Biomet dental division represents the joined forces of Zimmer Dental and BIOMET 3i and is a leader in oral health care solutions.
