Expands Zimmer Biomet’s Global Digital Restorative Dentistry Solutions

 

(WARSAW, Ind.) September 19, 2019 - Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc. (NYSE and SIX: ZBH), a global leader in musculoskeletal healthcare, today announced a multinational distribution agreement with Align Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALGN), for the award-winning iTero Element family of intraoral scanners. Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. The agreement expands Zimmer Biomet’s global footprint in the rapidly growing market for digital restorative dentistry solutions.

Mounting Studies Support Implant Therapy for Previously Untreatable Patients

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., June 24, 2019Zimmer Biomet has released a clinical compendium demonstrating evidence of the BioBoost Effect™, a novel reproducible biological effect following placement of Trabecular Metal dental implants that evidences the acceleration of bone growth, vascularization and wound healing. Several clinical publications demonstrate a multiplication of naturally occurring growth factors that deliver faster healing and earlier bone formation than traditional implants.1 The discovery of the BioBoost Effect has expanded treatment options for dental patients who, until recently, may not have been viable candidates for dental implant therapy.

“The Trabecular Metal Implant in rapid recovery protocol has been a game-changer for our practice,” said Jason Kennedy, DMD. “We can we take a patient from an edentulous state to a final restoration in two weeks’ time.”

 

The new compendium summarizes highlights from 30 clinical publications, documenting immediate and long-term success in rapid recovery, high risk and revision therapy cases. The BioBoost Effect is the result of a proprietary combination of cancellous-like porosity and highly biocompatible tantalum. Through enhanced gene expression, the BioBoost Effect prompts early bone healing and attachment with a 2-week final loading protocol in appropriate cases, which has been documented to have a 97 to 100 percent survival rate after up to five years’ follow-up. Clinical evidence also demonstrates the advantage of placing Trabecular Metal Implants in patients with risk factors such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, prior oral infection, the effects of cancer treatment and poor bone quality. Additionally, because the BioBoost Effect supports the healthy ingrowth of vascularized bone as well as the potential for enhanced bone healing compared to conventional titanium implants, Trabecular Metal Implants may have a clinical advantage when used in revision therapy.1

2ème symposium Zimmer Biomet

Paris, Maison de la Mutualité - Les 28 et 29 mars dernier a eu lieu le 2ème Symposium Zimmer Biomet à la Maison de la Mutualité, un lieu familier pour l'équipe car il accueillait déjà, en 2017, le 1er Symposium. Cette année, le thème «Choix thérapeutiques et pragmatisme» a réuni plus de 800 clients Zimmer Biomet afin de partager les connaissances et les meilleures pratiques implantaires: un véritable succès!

Le jeudi, le discours d’ouverture d’Ann Verledens, Directrice Générale France, du Docteur Michel Jabbour et du Pr Olivier Fromentin, nos deux présidents scientifiques, a donné le ton: le savoir est le seul capital qui se multiplie lorsqu’on le partage. C’est dans cet esprit que nos conférenciers ont commencé la journée sur le thème principal du symposium «Choix thérapeutiques et pragmatisme». Nos 27 orateurs ont utilisé le format 20 minutes des Tedtalks pour couvrir les 5 chapitres que nous avons conçus avec nos présidents scientifiques: «Chirurgie pré-implantaire: le sinus", "Chirurgie pré-implantaire: les greffes osseuses", "Prothèse implantaire", "Chirurgie implantaire et préservation tissulaire "et" La péri-implantite au cœur du débat ". Toutes les conférences ont été traduites de l’anglais en français et du français en anglais, car nous avons accueilli sur scène des orateurs du BeNeLux.

Le rythme était dynamique et chaque sujet captivait le public. La webapp, conçue pour l'événement, a permis une interactivité entre la salle et la scène: chaque participant a pu poser des questions aux conférenciers, donner son avis personnel sur le symposium et répondre à un questionnaire de satisfaction.

Pendant les pauses, les participants ont eu l’occasion de voir et manipuler nos solutions et produits Zimmer Biomet, de rencontrer nos équipes passionnées et de tester les scanners intra-oraux ITero®.

Zfx offers quality CAD/CAM restorative components for the industry’s most popular dental implant connections. (PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL) February 5, 2019Zimmer Biomet today announced the expansion of its Dental product portfolio to include non-resorbable membranes and sutures. The new OsseoGuard® non-resorbable product line includes dense PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) membranes in multiple texture variations, as well as a titanium mesh and PTFE sutures. OsseoGuard products are currently available in the US and Canada.

OsseoGuard membranes are specifically engineered to eliminate bacterial infiltration into the surgical site while preventing tissue from growing into the bone cavity. High-density PTFE used in the manufacturing process greatly reduces the membrane’s pore size to a submicron (less than 0.3 microns) level. OsseoGuard non-resorbable dental membranes are recommended in certain complex cases, such as vertical ridge augmentation procedures, where longer lasting and space-maintaining membranes are needed because resorbable products may resorb too quickly.

Avec RegenerOss®, notre nouveau substitut osseux, nous proposerons à nos clients divers types de solutions dont des substituts osseux non-résorbables d’origine bovine  (Granules Endobon® pour xénogreffe) et ce nouveau substitut osseux totalement résorbable  (Particules RegenerOss® pour xénogreffe).  RegenerOss® est un produit d’origine porcine composé de carbonate-apatite lui offrant des capacités ostéoconductrices supérieures à l’hydroxyapatite. Sa porosité élevée permet de préserver l’espace nécessaire pour le dépôt d’un os nouveau. Le degré de cristallinité de la carbonate-apatite (RegenerOss®) est inférieur à celui de l’hydroxyapatite, ce qui lui permet d’être moins dense et moins fragile notamment lors de la phase d’ostéotomie et de préparation à la pose d’implant.

Malha brings more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare segment, where he has a strong track record of building medical device and pharmaceutical brands, developing commercial capabilities and driving strong, profitable growth globally. Malha most recently served as head of the global strategic efforts for Abbott Vision Care. He has held leadership roles in various business units of Abbott, including Vice President for the EMEA Region and Head of North Europe for Abbott’s Diabetes Division. Prior to joining Abbott, Malha was a Strategy Consultant with Ernst & Young in New York City.

A graduate of Bentley University with a bachelor’s degree in management, Malha also holds a Master of Business Administration from Boston University.

Leader in musculoskeletal healthcare will now distribute a fully synthetic bone graft delivered in a proprietary cartridge delivery system

 

(Palm Beach Gardens, FL) – April 12, 2017—Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc. (NYSE and SIX: ZBH), a global leader in musculoskeletal healthcare, today announced the distribution of NovaBone Dental Putty through its dental division in over 40 countries within the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Asia Pacific and select markets in Europe. NovaBone Dental Putty is manufactured by NovaBone Products, LLC. NovaBone is a fully synthetic bone graft engineered for enhanced handling and improved performance. In addition to being osteoconductive, the calcium phosphosilicate particles within the product’s formulation promote osteostimulation. NovaBone putty has over 20 years of clinical success documented by more than 50 peer-reviewed publications.1

NovaBone Dental Putty offers unique consistency, with no mixing or thawing required prior to placement.2 The putty adapts to the defect surface and allows uniform surface contact with the bony walls of the defect and eliminates over-condensation or undercondensation of the graft material.2 In addition, the product does not adhere to surgical gloves or instruments during manipulation. Precise, controlled application using a cartridge delivery system reduces waste and facilitates defect fill.

Leader in musculoskeletal healthcare expands Tapered Screw-Vent® Family of dental implants featuring new coronal texturing options with microgrooves

(PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL) August 16, 2016Zimmer Biomet (NYSE and SIX: ZBH), a global leader in musculoskeletal healthcare, launches the TSVT and TSVM MP-1® HA Dental Implants, manufactured by Zimmer Dental.  An extension of the successful1 Tapered Screw-Vent® Implant Family, these additional implant configurations are designed to address clinical challenges and preferences for crestal bone maintenance and soft tissue management through coronal texturing options with microgrooves.

TSVT and TSVM MP-1 HA Implants feature a highly crystalline MP-1 HA-coated midsection designed to resist dissolution for long-term coating stability, while achieving high levels of bone-to-implant contact.1  The TSVT and TSVM MP-1 HA Implants are available in the same diameters and lengths as existing TSV Implants.  New configuration options include:

  • TSVT: MTX® microtexturing to the top of the implant, coronal microgrooves and an MP-1 HA-coated midsection

Training center focuses on strengthening and enhancing the dental profession by offering scientific educational courses to dental clinicians from around the world.

 

(PARSIPPANY, NJ) February 16, 2016–Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc. (NYSE and SIX: ZBH), a global leader in musculoskeletal healthcare, is pleased to announce the grand re-opening of its dental division’s Zimmer Biomet Institute training center in Parsippany, New Jersey. The Zimmer Biomet Institute Parsippany training center is a part of the dental division of Zimmer Biomet.

The newly enhanced 20,000 square foot dental training center includes a simulation lab, a cadaver lab and lecture room. The facility dedicated to training provides scientific educational courses for dental clinicians from around the world who are interested in restorative, surgical and regenerative procedures. The courses offered at the center include cadaveric-based training, case study reviews and simulation workshops (on lifelike mannequins) in our proprietary, state-of-the-art patient training laboratory. This provides optimal hands-on experience and support to clinicians as they strive to refine their clinical skills.

Focusing on strengthening and enhancing the dental profession through education, the Zimmer Biomet Institutes in North America train more than 1,000 dental clinicians through 65+ courses offered annually.

In order to meet the growing demand from clinicians and the expanding global business of dental implantology, additional facilities will open in China in late 2016 and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida in late 2017. The Carlsbad, California facility will be moving to an enhanced site in June 2016. Existing facilities operate in Bogota, Columbia and Winterthur, Switzerland.

(Palm Beach Gardens, FL) – February 19, 2016 – The Zimmer Biomet dental division is pleased to announce the U.S. launch of its new 3i T3 Short Implants, manufactured by Biomet 3i. The company is also offering a comprehensive new surgical kit designed specifically to support site preparation and placement of 3i T3 Short Implants. The 3i T3 Short Implants have been commercially available in Europe and Australia since June of 2015. Dr. Francesco Amato stated, “The 3i T3 Short Implant provides me with an implant treatment option for patients with limited bone height, reducing the need for a sinus elevation or vertical ridge augmentation procedure.”

The 3i T3 Short Implants are available in 5 and 6mm diameters with 5 and 6mm lengths and provide a familiar surgical protocol without the need for vertical grafting procedures in some challenging clinical cases. They feature the 3i T3 Surface along the full length of the implant, increased implant/abutment clamping force when using the Gold-Tite® Screw, and instrumentation designed to create a tight implant-to-osteotomy fit, which assists with primary stability. In addition, the system includes new instruments designed specifically for the 3i T3 Short Implants, such as the Flat-bottom Shaping Drills that match the dimensions of the implant and provide a countersink.
